Who Is Tupac?
When most individuals who know of Tupac hear his name, they convey rapper, gangsta, actor. However these are the persons who know very little of Tupac in accordance of lack of knowledge that perpetuates a misunderstanding of Tupac. Surely once cannot deny Tupac’s negative actualities; but this is not the totality of who Tupac was. For Tupac exhibits various characteristics that extended beyond his known commonalities as rapper, actor and gangsta; But other characteristics such as intellectual, ghetto activist and poet.
These represent the totality of Tupac. A man that possessed variations of not just being a gangsta, rapper , actor but a man that was unique in conveying his individuality that separated himself from all by his courage in his belief and being real to the extent that he was hated and loved for his realty.
Tupac as an intellectual – The meaning of Thug Life conveys – The Hate U Gave Lil Infants Fucks Everybody. This is Tupac’s ghetto ideology of translating the socialist problem surrounding society toward the youths that grow up to rebel against civil laws. It is stating that the future of all society depends on their youths. Therefore, when their civil socialism is tampered as being altered by an uncivil act it corrupts the foundation of civility, producing negative actions toward positive actions. That each human is responsible to another.
Tupac as a Ghetto Activist – Tupac’s rap about the ghetto as bringing insight to the masses about the social mind set of what Ghettoism is. AS why individuals act this way and are that way i.e. songs – Brenda has a baby, Me Against the World, Keep ya Head Up, Changes and various others. Tupac perpetuated ghettoism in a charismatic persona as him being a true living example of the ghetto. (As this being an example of a young black male growing up in the ghetto system).
Tupac as a poet – Tupac was literary in composing his lyrics by metaphorically relating his feelings in a systematic way of being straight forward but to the extent where he can position his self expression to the reality of shifting you from your reality. This is the Tupac that most individuals revile from; for they mainly want to uphold Tupac’s gangsta persona. This I say is wrong; for Tupac was not just a man rapping about a gangsta experience but he brought intellectual insight to why change was necessary, why the ghetto is second class, that is to say anyone in the ghetto or in the project is seen to be uncivilized rather than civil; and that man (government systems) should not revile from what he has produced – a part of society called the ghetto.
